Localisation

Teams localise a product to reach audiences in new markets, adapting its language, formats and presentation to each culture rather than merely translating the words. Decide how far to go by weighing how diverse the audience is, how much culture affects their tasks, and the value of the market. Localisation typically covers date, time, number and currency formats, layouts that handle right-to-left scripts, imagery and tone that fit local conventions, address and contact formats, and legal rules such as privacy and refunds. Work with local advisers and prepare the product for localised content early, then test the results with users from the target market.
